That's just what I've done in the past Tim. I've got a set of
transfer screws that I inherited from me Pop, I've used them a
lot in my wood working also. The advantage is you can screw
them down into the hole almost flush and they are easily
removed with the hex socket that comes with the set.
McMaster has a set like mine and they've proven to be handy for
many projects over the years.
