Vito49 - GVW fefers to Gross Weight Rating and today it is known as GVWR(V=Vehicle).
Axle weight ratings are known as GAWR(A=axle).
Since your truck is rated 16000 GVW it is the total of the two axles which is probably 11000 rear and 5000 front in your instance. That info most likely isn't shown on the label but would appear on the build sheet or mfgr's information.
