The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline shifting issue

I adjusted the shifter to the specs and the truck doesn't want to go into 2nd. I can go from 1st to 3rd but not 3rd to second. The bracket that comes off the steering column to linkage that ends at the tranny doesn't get into the right position and therefore not allowing it to get into 2nd gear. I tried looking for bushings but can't seem to find anything to make it more sturdy. Has anyone had this issue or any advice? Thanks. This is the only thing holding up my truck from driving it on the street. I have a 53 chevy truck with 3 on the tree.
