The good thing about old chev trucks is, if it came with a V8 you can keep the engine and upgrade to an engine that is newer and bigger as well, and still keep the truck totally factory stock otherwise. If you want it back to 100% stock you put the old engine back in. And this way you also save the old engine and not wear it out.
