I installed my 4 speed transmission, new u-joint and the rebuilt torque tube in my "52" 1/2 ton. I filled the u-joint housing with gear oil but it never reached the fill port. I put in two 32oz bottles and quit. When I went to fill the transmission it did not take much more. Can I assume the gear oil flows into both the u-joint housing and the tranny. I could not find this answer anywhere in the shop manual. I did install a new okie bushing in the torque tube so fluid should not have leaked into the tube.
