You will want to check the cyl walls just down from the top of the block and feel the ridge that is worn there from where the top ring has stopped a couple of billon times , proper technique says use a ridge remover tool (machine shop) , I'm guessing there are broken or gummed up rings in this bore , sounds like a full strip down is in order , hmm more $$ . You will find plenty worn when you start doing that . wink .
