That's really a decision that you can make several times. You could start out by repairing what needs to be repaired so that you can drive the truck and enjoy it. As time goes by, you may decide you want to make some changes. I would take some time, go to the swap meets and car shows and look at what others have done. Decide what you like and what you don't like. All the while, you can be enjoying your truck. This also gives you time to find out what things cost and decide what you want to do.

You can also do a lot using parts from the junk yard and by doing a lot of the work yourself. And if you "screw" something up, you can always fix it later.
