yes Darrell, there are multiple issues, like needing to re-adjust the voltage regulator correctly, putting excess strain on your 6V generator, and constantly replacing burned out light bulbs - as Vern says, with the wiring all in proper condition the 6V system works fine - especially make sure you have the correct heavy gauge battery cables, not the wimpy 12V ones generally used nowadays
