Rick,
If your asking for a choice between stock engines, the 350 is clearly the way to go. Over the last 25 years I've had many of these engines in all kinds of cars and trucks, stock and highly modified. I haven't experienced the problems with mine that I've read here. If that is your question, the stock 350 will do a more than adequate job in a bolt.
