The fitting on the bowl adapter, be sure that if you have a flare on the tube that you have a flare fitting, or if you have a compression fitting that all the parts are there. You really need to figure out which is leaking. Don't use any tape or sealant on the flare or compression fitting side, but do use it where the adapters fit together. There is one sealant designed specifically for use with gasoline, Permatex Hylomar. It can be used on the threads and on the gasket of the fitting to the bowl.
