I have added one quart, but did lose some oil while adjusting valves. I also had an oil filter (ferrel connection) come loose. Luckily I was just moving it a few feet down the curb when it came loose. Had to refil from that. I gave up on the ferrel fittings and replaced completely with hydraulic lines.
