Thank you. I succeeded - with the first one anyway. It was all a matter of the brake adjusters being rusty and crusty with good old Colorado clay and etc etc. However, when I could definitely tell the brakes were not the problem I still could not pull it off the axle. It turned out the inner bearing, also crusty with hard, old grease etc
was hanging up. Too dirty to tell if the axle has a problem like a groove worn in it or if we are just looking at super cleaning all of it. The great news is the drum and even the brake shoes looked totally reusable. I love to end the day on a victory so
