Friends,
I decided to tackle the brakes and bearing on my truck.
I have never had these apart before and I seem to be hung up on something I can't see.
I removed the outer bearing cover bolts, the main nut and cotter pin, the bearing itself, and assumed the drum would slip off at that point but no can do. Ah, my kingdom for a service manual. Anyway, these have an
extension from the drum holding that outer bearing and I removed those nuts, too. Perhaps that piece is rusted to the drum but my best efforts to break them loose are for naught. Next logical step will be to try to
back off the brake shoes through the adjusters. Anyone have any other thoughts or helpful suggestions? Thanks LevisPop
