One other suggestion. When replacing parts, any parts, try to do the whole project at once. It sounds like u replaced most but not all of the "tune-up parts". In the case of a tune-up, there is no sence replacing the condenser w/out the points. or definitely, the rotor without the dist. cap. Many parts work together or in conjucture with eachother, so do 'em all if possible. Besides, tune-up parts are cheap. The starter is a good example. You found a couple problems so u just replaced the whole thing. I would've done the same thing. Now you'll probably never have to deal with that starter again. Just replacing the brushes and maybe the gear would've still left you with an "old" starter.
