For the quality of the work and materials, be it original or modified, I suspect whoever had it built forked out more than the selling price.
Hiring out work like that is expensive.... I once worked at a restoration shop and no matter how you go about it to do the best work it takes time and time cost money.
Just because a vehicle cost so much to restore doesn't mean it's worth it, which is often the case.. But if you were to duplicate the work sure it'll cost that much again, so if that's the truck someone else had dreamed of building they might have gotten a deal by purchasing it already done.
