Welcome to the Stovebolt 50's-Dragger. Sounds like you have the itch and need to scratch it. The AD's are a good style to build and many parts, although mostly from china, are availbable.
...as for price? Well, in my area here in S.C. that would be a little steep. But for your area, and good motor and a few other things you mentioned that may not be a bad price in your local.
