Denny - on a numbers-matching show vehicle, I would advocate machining a new fitting with slightly oversize threads.

While the product advertising may indicate otherwise, after almost 50 years of working on carbs, I can recommend NO sealer; AND RECOMMEND NOT using any sealer around fuel.
