Hi Denny
The stuff I purchased was a fel-pro gaskets (federal-mogul corp) 4 piece material assortment pak part # 3060, and used the 1/16 thick cork-rubber sheet it claims is for sealing oil, coolant, gasoline . the leaks stopped and the carb seems to be working quite well (for a Rochester B ) maybe I just got lucky :p I do remember the small ridge in the casting that helps seal the gasket was intact also . I am able to stall the motor when the idle adjustment screw is all the way in , so I think it’s sealing ok . I really can’t tell if the gas mileage is affected as the speedometer is dead . on the other hand I think that replacing the Rochester carb is a good choice and Carbkings opinion that their best use is a door stop is correct.
