Howdee, lots of good information here.
I have a problem with me 53 GMC 228, 6V Pos. gnd. When I start it from cold, 107deg outside, it will start and run and charge. When I turn it off after it is up to temp and try to re-start it doesn't have enough umph to barely turn over the engine. Volt drop across the battery while cranking is 4.2 volts. I thought that the armature was bad so I had it rebuilt. Same story after rebuild.
Any ideas ?
