I do know that my '49 Canuck Poncho, which was basically a chev with a (flathead six), had five lugs and was a 4.11.
The jump from the 1-ton 5.14 that I drive everyday to a 4.11, and less weight should feel like a rocket ship, that's the way my sedan always felt when I got into it.
