I stopped by the garage yesterday to tell the mechanic I had the truck running again. I told him I got #1 cylinder on TDC and put the old modified cap on and aligned it with the rotor.
He commented that the only thing he could think of was that an incorrect distributor plate had been installed so that is looking like the best solution. So, how do I tell if the plate is wrong and how do I get the correct one? Would it just be easier to buy a rebuilt distributor? What supplier do you recommend??
Since it's running great and I will probably drive it less than 1,000 miles a year, will not rush to "fix" it again but would be nice to be able to do a normal tune up in the future.
Thanks again for all of your help. Much appreciated.
