Again, thanks for your help and information. Looks like distributor 1112403 is the correct unit for my engine (60-61 235 per block cast number).
Although I have the wrong distributor, the truck is running great. I checked with the previous owner and he didn't change the distributor so it's been that way for about 15 years and +35K miles. I will keep a modified distributor cap in the truck just in case. Have made a permanent mark on the distributor where the rotor lines up at #1 TDC so easy to get cap lined up.
Picked up new cap, rotor, points and condenser for the distributor yesterday. Shorter cap and rotor but will still be out of alignment with the rotor at #1 TDC so I have plenty of spares.
Will look for a 1112403 distrubutor in the future and get it prepped/rebuilt and just keep "just in case".
Still, it would be nice to figure out why the rotor is out of alignment.
