Hy Josh_53GMC. I don't know how I can say it any planer your truck should be wired negative ground, only a 9700 series [3 ton] was wired positive ground. If you check your connections at the ignition coil, you should see that the one with the wire which goes to the distributor is on the coils negative terminal.
