Hy Josh_53GMC, all Canadian GMCs except the 9700 series [3 ton] are negative ground. I saw from your post in the electrical forumn that you have no spark when grounding your spark plug to your engine, as Squeeze suggested you should have your main ground cable attached to a starter mounting bolt, then you can install an additional ground cable back to the frame. That should make your engine crank a little faster, and you might even get it to start, hope that helps.
