The timing mark and #1 appear to line up properly.
The only thing that I did was clean, then replace the cap. I took the wires off then put them on as per the firing order. I only today rotated the distributor a bit both ways to see if I could get it going but that didn't work. I will put it back the way it was.
I agree though it must be ignition related.
