You're gonna have to make sure it is in time first before proceeding further. Don't change anything else until you have double checked the timing. the more, different, things you do, the more that can go wrong.
Yes, the firing order is 153624, but first you must make sure that you have number one cylinder lined up correctly. If you don't recall how to do this, I or someone else can walk you through it. But let's time it first.
