The seal came with oil on it. It wasn't dripping wet. My fingers were smudged after touching it. Does it need more oil. Can I use any oil or is something better? Do you put anything on the ends of the wick as you are mating the bearing halves? I'm going to give it another try. Just seems like the Neoprene seal is too susceptible to leaking.
