All my Chevys and my '66 GMC 1000 had the same Fawn type colors on the tops of the dash as well, but my '62 GMC 6500 had Flat Black from the factory what was probably "Charcoal Grey" as Jake has mentioned. The Flat Black seemed convenient, but I never remember any problems with any of them. I drove '60 to '66 Chev/GMC trucks continuously for over 25 years.
