| | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 | During the early 50's there were some of the Chevrolet pickup trucks in which the stock mounting of the shock was forward. This was caused by interference from the steering arm on the left side of the truck and consequently, both sides had the shocks mounted from the factory leaning toward the front.
I've got a 37 truck with a 50's front axle and steering arm and I had to mount my shocks leaning toward the front. This set up has been that way for several years and works fine.
