Frank McGurk's
1952 pickup with a street-modified 216 did 0-60 in 11.0 seconds back in 1953. The time with the stock 216 was 16.6 seconds.
With the 261 (bored to 278) engine described in the May 1955 HRM, Racer Brown reported a 0-60 time of "about 7-1/2 seconds" for the '52 pickup, with a slipping clutch.
