I agree, impact that sucker. If you're worried about damage, put a firm grip on the yoke to eliminate a lot of the vibration and movement. I've replaced many pinion yokes and it takes the pounding of an impact to bust things loose. I've done both of my 48 1 1/2 pinion seals this way, it works. Of course you need a good impact,
