If you're not sure how old the tires are, they're too old to drive on. I have retreads on my truck that are 15 years old with lots of tread left.
Some of the sidewalls look perfect, some are cracked. I don't want to die. Generally anything over 5 years old is needing replacement for safety reasons. I'm not saying people don't use older tires, but it's risky.
