Hey guys,
Sooooooooooo....I've been building my 235 out of my 59 Apache Fleetside (you can see pictures in this month's submissions to the gallery, Tyler Bolles' 59 Apache....I'm Tyler). I didn't disassemble my engine, it was done partially by a buddy and partially by the machine shop. When I got it all back, it was a a block, and a few boxes of parts and nuts and bolts....all bejumbled. It's been a fun puzzle so far, but here's the big hangup.
For mounting the oil pump, I've narrowed it down to two screws that fit in the holes in the pump, and are round, like the holes on the outside of the block. Thing is, they have nice smooth round heads, with no slot for a hex key or anything. Like a regular bolt, oly with a round head...nothing to grip! Are these the right screws? How do I secure them? What kind of tool do I need??The shop manual makes it sound like there's only one screw, and a lock nut or something, but.....
Anyway, HELP!
