Your multigrade oil AND any single grade oil will have the same viscosity at 210 degrees, so technically, it should make no difference to your engine once warm. It wouldn't hurt to try!

I could be wrong Stuart but that's not what I've heard. A 10W30 oil is 10 weight oil with the lubricating properties (not viscosity) of 30 weight when hot. A 10 weight oil would be much thinner than a 30 weight when hot. Do you have a credible source I could go to that has data supporting the single viscosity and multi viscosity having the same viscosity when hot? I'm not trying to be contrary, thats just the opposite of what I've been told over the years.
