if it can be washed into the pan then try that. Once in the pan pull the plug out and let whatever you used to wash it down (kerosene etc) float it to the drain plug opening. Then use some needle nose pliers or something and try catch it. TIP: when going to the dentist I asked him to save me some of his "tools". On a subsequent visit he gave me a big handful of little gadgets and gizmo's that I use a lot to pull things from o'rings to picking out fuel jets. They are handy to have around.
