Ah - my "it might be a tight fit" was unclear - that was in regards to dimensions, as in the width of the truck and the dolly. Dolly and 56 will be well within weight limit of the tow vehicle.
I agree that towing more than the GCWR of the tow vehicle isn't a great idea, especially on the terrain I'll be covering.
I do like trailers over dollies, but the math is not in my favor this time it seems.
I don't have a lot of faith in any of the Uhaul facilities / employees in my area. (As an aside, I don't have a lot of faith in their trucks, either). I'll be checking out the dolly pretty well before I leave their lot.
