#63595 07/28/2006 10:00 PM | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | If it has 2 nuts on top of the valve cover instead of 4 screws on the sides of the cover holding it down its a 216 or 235 babbited eng.
Also the 216s and 235 babbited had the side covers on the engine that go up through the spark plugs while the later non babbit engines stopped just below the spark plugs.
Dont know much about the numbers but someone else will explain shortly.
