That heavy factory crossmember that goes under the bellhousing IS a structural member and should not be eliminated, without something to take its place. Look at the frame; its a ladder with only 4 or 5 rungs.
That is why I originaly reccomended the other crossmember, bellhousing, and transmission. The swap with the integral bellhousing transmission is similar to a v8/automatic swap. I believe that crossmember is removed for the v8/automatic swap. I don't know how that problem is solved for that swap, but I assume it will be the same solution for the swap here. Maybe someone who has done the v8/automatic swap can chime in here.
