I have my T-5 transmission installed in my 37 pick up. I must say that everything is coming along nicely - slowly, but nicely. I do have one problem I cannot solve so I bring it to the men of the square table (here) to seek help!! I do not need a "man law", just help!!! grin

I replaced the motor mounts on the bell housing just before the T-5 installation. This caused the engine/transmission combo to raise about 3/4 " in the truck. The motor mounts were in very bad condition (original) and really need to be replaced. This also caused getting the T-5 in the bell housing an unforgettable experience. Now, I find the T-5 to be about 3/8" above the floor board line of the truck. I have purchased a fiberglass 4 speed transmission floor board from Jim Carter and it fits perfect and clears the transmission except at the cut out at the 4 speed spot in the floor board - a hole about 6" X 8". Of course, I do not have a plate to cover that spot because one doesn't come with the floor board plus it would have to be 3/8" higher than the floor board or "hump up" 3/8". eek

Can anyone give me a suggestion as to how to handle this problem? Is there a floor board piece you know of that would work for me in this situation?

Thank you for any useful suggestions!!
