Likely the parts you are interested in can be bought individually from Stovebolters here or on sights like EBay and some aftermarketers that sell used or NOS parts. Unless, you just want to play around with pulling apart the 235, I personally would pass on it. And yes,the damper deteriorates although there are rebuilders for them if you want to do that.
