I have the opportunity to buy this
engine locally from a guy at work that just picked up a truck. It's a 235 that doesn't turn over. My 235 is fine and I would be buying this one mostly for the damper and road draft tube. My damper isn't stock so my fan is spaced out 1" and I have broken a fan pully before. I have a NOS pully on now and 2 spares. My draft tube just doesn't have the bracket to bolt it to the engine.
Do stock dampers contain rubber that could be deteriorated?
My other idea was to paint the tin and manifolds of this engine and put them on mine as done, but these would all need blasting.
I could probably get it for $40 or less, but I don't really want the block taking up space either, so it would have to go soon.
Thoughts?
