| | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 684 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 684 | If this is a 1/2 ton pickup you can probably remove the 4 bolts holding the ball joint retainer, Slide the ball back on the torque tube and split the universal joint by removing the bolts holding the joint together. If the u-joint is rivited together you will have to unbolt the springs from the differential and slide the rear end back far enough to clear the u-joint. The larger trucks have the rivited u-joint. I am not sure on the 1/2 ton.
