The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Electric fule pump location??

I got me an electric fuel pump (6 volts).
The box says:
"closer to the tank is better and use a filter before the pump"

Does the location realy make a difference?
I would like to have it on the fire wall.

I always thought that a filter must be after the pump???

Any recomendations or experiance?
