So your suggestion is to rebuild the 283? That's what I want to do anyway. I was told that it is the original; engine, but don't really know how to verify that. There is no "V" in the hood where the emblem is, which makes me question the originality. But regardless, for some reason I like the 283 and would rather yank it out and rebuild it than put something else in there.
