Why not just double the #30? The stuff in the few vehicles Ive torn apart is just a little thicker then that, and is usually pretty squiched by the time Ive gotten to it.
As neil mentions, EPDM (rubber) would work also. Plus you could probably go down to a tire place and get some torn up inner tubes to use for free.
