Reminds me of an ill-spent youth. We frequently did this on purpose "back in the day". All you have to do is switch off the ignition for 5-6 while in a deceleration mode, then turn it back on without hitting the throttle. Especially effective going downhill. You get a very loud explosion at the least and often blow the muffler out just like shown by Leon. I am almost surprised I used to be that dumb.
