I'm at the point in my restoration where the engine needs to come out. Since this is my first project I have never done anything like this before. I read some old threads and got some information, but most of them left out little details that only come from experience.
I would really like to know any tips / tricks you have learned like what should I use (towstraps, chain, etc). I saw I-Bolts mentioned but don't see how that would be able to take all the weight of the engine. Would I simply un-bolt the transmission from the bellhousing and have the engine / bellhousing come out as a unit? The repair manual is a good start, but seems to be geared towards someone with experience

.
The engine is a seized 216 with a SM420 behind it.
Thanks
