You can bend the pushrod if the valve is stick pretty tight. I don't think there's enough of a problem with piston-to-valve clearance that a piston could hit the valve, even if it was stuck wide open. Loosen the valve adjusting screws on the rocker arms a few turns if you're concerned with the possibility of sticky valves. You can also put a small pry bar between the rocker arm and the underside of the rocker shaft and see if you can move the valves one at a time.
