For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 9 | Greetings, fellow bolters. I'm a relative newbie to these vehicles; always had euro stuff before but also always wanted a truck like the '51 3-ton dump I have now. It's going in for body and paint next week; I'm too embarrassed to drive it in its current hue of fluorescent orange done with spray cans and no masking (previous owner). Anyway, I can't figure out the model numbering system and I have no chrome emblems for the side of the hood. I hear talk of Chev 3800 and Chev 6400, but have no idea what the numbers mean. Do you know what I have and what emblems I should be looking for? If it helps, it's a Canadian "Maple Leaf" model, ex-Royal Canadian Air Force (and only 43,000 miles from new!). Thanks for your consideration; Tim
