When it gets real bad you get a loud grinding noise when you push down on the clutch. You will have to pull it all the way back to replace the bearing. Did you inspect the pilot bushing when you had it out. A light churping noise when you press the pedal just enough to take up the freeplay happens sometime & is normal.
